The court ruled that the Hollywood mogul, whose conviction was at the centre of the #MeToo movement against sexual harassment in the entertainment industry, did not receive a fair trial. The 72-year-old remains imprisoned due to a separate conviction, however.

Some Venice residents are worried that their famous city has been converted into a "theme park" after authorities began charging visitors a €5 (about $7.30) entry fee. Mayor Luigi Brugnaro said the charge would make the city "liveable" again following years of excessive tourism.
