The line-up for a “one-of-a-kind” pop culture festival in Kelowna has been announced.
Featuring cabaret, dozens of vendors and celebrity guests, movies and cosplay, the Kelowna Fan Experience (KFX) is returning for its sixth yearly event.
Josie Morrow, KFX site director, said: “It is a chance to meet inspiring top filmmakers, actors, animators, gamers and cosplayers in a fun, friendly environment.”
She added: "This is a one-of-a-kind party, rarely seen in Kelowna.”
The showcase event is Superstar, a cabaret concert featuring TV star Sharron Matthews.
She will perform on the event’s opening night – Friday, March 22 – at the Kelowna Community Theatre.
The festival runs till March 24.
On Saturday, there will more than 60 vendors as well as artists and celebrities at meet and greet tables.
There will also be improv, cosplay contests, lip sync events, e-sports (with prizes) and a licensed retro games lounge.
Panels with the likes of Tara Strong (Batman, My Little Pony, Teen Titans Go!) and John Delaney (The Simpsons and DC Comics) will also be a feature.
On the Saturday evening, guests will be treated to a cast-and-crew premiere of locally filmed Daughter of the Wolf.
It stars Gina Carano, Brendan Fehr and Richard Dreyfuss.
Also playing on Saturday will be the long-form comedy show One Man Walking Dead featuring Mark Meer.
KFX producer Bonnie Gratz said the talent on display makes the festival “like no other in the Okanagan”.
More than 5,000 people attended the event last year.
