While the music of Shinedown could be considered as heavy rock featuring some dramatic lyrical themes, the four band members are more or less everyday kind of guys.
The Florida-bred band is set to rock Penticton’s South Okanagan Events Centre on Tuesday, Oct. 15, alongside alternative rock legends Papa Roach and, Asking Alexandria.
Speaking from Winnipeg's MTS Place Arena, Shiendown’s guitarist Zach Myers says the band still gets along well enough to ride on the same tour bus, workout together and of course, rock shows every night.
“There’s drama in the group, we’re really just working together to put on an amazing show for the fans every time we hit the stage,” said Myers.
“The current tour is an epic bill and fans are going to get a lot of huge radio songs.”
After releasing their fifth studio album Attention Attention in 2018, the band has begun to fit as many as eight songs of the record into their live show.
“We change the setlist every night and really try to work in some of the new material while of course playing the classics,” explained Myers.
“Our singer is always sure to deliver a message to the crowd too, but he’s not talking to waste time, he wants to help the audience connect with the music.”
The band also hosts meet and greets as a way to connect with fans before the show, a practice that Myers says the band is very proud of.
