If someone in a teal vest knocks on your door in the coming days, you don’t have to be skeptical.
The BC Cancer Foundation is letting Kelowna residents know that their door-to-door canvassers are out and about in search of donations.
These canvassers are tasked with introducing locals to the Foundation and its monthly donor program, which is vitally important.
Monthly donations from residents support life-saving research that takes place at BC Cancer, aiming to help change the outcomes for British Columbians who are facing the disease.
There is understandable nervousness when canvassers knock at doors in this day and age, but the ones in teal vests are doing their part for BC Cancer.
The BC Cancer Foundation says, for security and safety purposes, all canvassers will have their teal vests and ID badges on them.
They will not accept cash at the door, the Foundation notes, but rather invite people to take part in a monthly giving program.
If someone chooses to sign up for that program, they will then receive an email confirmation immediately.
“Every dollar we raise stays at BC Cancer to advance research and enhance care for the people of BC,” says a release from the BC Cancer Foundation.
“We believe that together, we can break down cancer and make a difference in the lives of all British Columbians.”
