It may be time to reconsider if you were planning to float the Penticton Channel over the weekend.
High and fast water along the channel has forced Coyote Cruises, a popular intertube rental and shuttle company, to shut down operations for the time being.
While people are still allowed to float the channel on their own, caution should be exercised beforehand.
On Thursday, a group of people floating down the fast-moving channel had to be rescued by the Penticton Fire Department after they floated under the Skaha Bridge.
The group of tubers was fine, but there is signage along the channel advising people to not float underneath as tubes can be pulled far into the lake by the current.
It's been a tough start to the season for Coyote Cruises, who had to call off service on Canada Day due to thunderstorms and rework their services due to COVID-19.
